The authority was established officially by administrative mandate orders in November 2024 to systematically blueprint public infrastructure grids, upgrade primary and tertiary medical networks, map regional agricultural requirements and deploy institutional automation matrices.

- Nov 2024 · PADA Constituted Government of Andhra Pradesh officially constituted Pithapuram Area Development Authority.
- Feb 2025 · Maiden PADA Meeting First PADA meeting held in Kakinada; Chairman S. Shan Mohan directs officials to prepare development action plans.
- Mar 2025 · PADA Operations Begin PADA officially commences operations. Project Director Chaitra Varshini conducts first grievance session, receiving 34 public complaints.
- 2025–26 · ₹308 Cr Projects Launched Projects worth ₹308.35 crore launched across healthcare, infrastructure, education, women empowerment, and environment sectors.
- Ongoing · Zero Poverty Mission PADA continues its mission towards zero poverty and sustainable development through the P4 approach.

About Pithapuram
Pithapuram (also spelled Pitapuram) is an ancient city with over 1,500 years of history in Kakinada district, Andhra Pradesh. Historically known as Pishtapura, it served as the capital of the Eastern Chalukyas and later became the center of the Pitapuram Estate.
The town is revered as "Dakshina Kasi" — a sacred pilgrimage destination housing the Kukkuteswara Temple, one of the 18 Maha Shakti Pithas. It is also the birthplace of Sripada Sri Vallabha, a 14th-century Hindu saint believed to be an incarnation of Dattatreya.
Pithapuram is famous for its Uppada Jamdani sarees, vibrant fishing communities, and rich royal heritage of the Pitapuram Rajas who patronized education and healthcare.
