About PADA

The Pithapuram Area Development Authority (PADA) was constituted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in November 2024, officially commencing operations on March 17, 2025. Established as a fulfillment of Deputy CM K. Pawan Kalyan's election promise, PADA covers 52 Gram Panchayats, Pithapuram Municipality, and Gollaprolu Municipality, spanning Pithapuram, Gollaprolu, and U. Kothapalli mandals.

The authority conducts public grievance meetings on last Monday of every Month at Pithapuram, ensuring transparent and accountable governance.

Geography& Natural Resources

Geographic Positioning : Spans 362 sq. km located within the Kakinada district. It shares boundaries with Kakinada, Samalkot, and Peddapuram constituencies Land Composition : The constituency has 65% of its land under agriculture, primarily cultivating paddy, while 10% comprises wetlands and forests. Water & Irrigation Infrastructure : Primary source: Yeleru Canal System. Coastal resource : A 16.8 km coastline providing a foundation for a massive fisheries and aquaculture economy. Climate Profile: Tropical climate with 1,100 mm average annual rainfall, mostly from the South-West Monsoon. The low elevation (+12.5 M) necessitates strategic water management during cyclone seasons.
